First time playing Cedar Irons since the renovations. North Shore was one of my favorite courses back in the day. I haven't played it for many years though. I was expecting big changes but I really felt like it was the same. Of course, making #3 a par 4, #5 a par 5, and #17 a par 4, were nice changes, plus the relocated tee box on #6. But at the end of the day, I felt like I played North Shore and paid $90 instead of $45. No GPS on the carts, no yardage on sprinkler heads. If they want me to spend that kind of money, they're gonna have to do better than that. I still like the course, just overpriced in my opinion.

The course reopened May 1st. Trees are trimmed up for faster play. Hole 3 has been shortened for safer play. Hole 5 has been lengthened for a challenging par 5. The greens are all the same speed. And there is actual sand in the sand traps, not last years gravel. The new restaurant is under construction. We played in 4 hours on a Thursday morning. What a joy!

Played here in a pro-am and this place is awesome following their recent renovations! The practice facility set-up is great and course conditions are excellent. The new greens are still on the slower side but not out of the ordinary for a public track and they will continue to improve. Seriously though, the facility is impressive and all the staff I interacted with were friendly and professional.

First off, they definitely put a lot of work into this place. Everything looks better maintained and it really is a fun course. The range is probably one of the best in the area. All of that said, this course has the feel of being run by people who donβt know how to run a course. I play A LOT of golf at a lot of courses and the fact that my round cost more than The Home Course is ridiculous. 98 dollars for walking is insane. Itβs the little things, it was crowded and the Marshall didnβt seem interested in picking up pace of play, thereβs no signage for how long a hole is or where to go, thereβs not even a single 150 stake to get an idea of how far out you are and thatβs important because they changed the layout so a lot of GPS devices are wrong. I could keep goingβ¦ At 45-60 bucks I could overlook all of that, but 100 bucks is just greedy. Never again at that price.

Awesome staff very accommodating! Their team does a great job of making sure you have a great time on the course and have everything you need to play. Theyβve done a great job getting this course in shape through the renovation and it all shows on the course. Will always be a regular and looking forward to many many rounds at this awesome course. Thanks guys for all you do Cedar Irons Staff π
